"The best advice is not to be afraid of achallenges, set a goal and do your best in order to achieve it."
1The products of your Aura distillery are widely known and recognized. In addition to business, you are also a marital partner. Does it make your job easier or does it bring some additional challenges?
Thank you for the compliment and the invitation to the interview.
We think it makes it a lot easier for us because we both think and push in the same direction and have the same goals which of course has a positive effect on the business. A lot doesn't even have to be said, but the other one does it. It is easier to progress, educate employees, have control over various processes, solve business challenges, everything is easier when we are together in business.
2What part of your job would you say is your favourite?
MIŠEL: For me personally, the greatest pleasure is to open new stores under our brand, when I create something new and different out of nothing. Then I am under the greatest adrenaline. Through all these years I have met a lot of successful business people with whom I can exchange various experiences and all these things create a pleasure for doing this business.
DAŠA: It is best when everything falls into place and when everything in which we have invested a lot of effort and money into pays off. In addition, our work is never monotonous, we are constantly in action, we overcome new challenges and opportunities every day, and in the end the most important thing is that it is not only a job, but also personal satisfaction.
3What motivates you in your daily work and in your efforts to further develop your business?
MIŠEL: We are motivated by the fact that we have managed to realize everything we planned a few years ago, so it is an additional motivation for new projects, to continue to persevere, work hard, make smart business moves, so success and progress can not be missed. From the economic point of view, motivation is the profit that we further invest in the business and progress of the company.
DAŠA: A job well done is motivation, gratitude at the end of a productive work day, and most of all it motivates us that people love our products and we get a lot of compliments every day at the expense of our products and work. We invest a lot in the quality of our products, so a satisfied customer is the biggest motivation.
4How do you think studying at Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka has influenced your career and approach to work?
The Faculty of Economics in Rijeka taught us the most important thing - an entrepreneurial way of thinking in all business segments, whether it is about finances, a new product, optimization of production. The essence is in the highest capacity utilization, which brings the highest profit. In any business, this is important and we are grateful that we studied here because this niche is ingrained in us and accompanies us on our business journey as well as many other knowledge and skills we have acquired while studying. Our recommendation is always to choose this particular Faculty.
5How do you see the ALUMNI EFRI community you are in and in which direction do you think it should develop?
We certainly support such communities, the more we exchange experiences, knowledge and meet as many different people, the more it enriches a person. We would like to encourage as many projects with companies where the theory learned in college can be translated into practice is the direction in which students should move. This way students will appreciate all the knowledge they gain and they will be assured that one day it will be useful in the business world.
6 What is your advice to other alumni, present and future?
It sounds like a cliché, but really the best advice is not to be afraid of a challenge, set a goal and do your best to achieve it.
